COMPETITION RULES

  • A maximum of 3 acrobatic elements can be used in choreographies.
  • A maximum of 1 spagat and / or eagle can be made in choreographies.
  • Salsa steps and variations must be choreographed.
  • The competitors must show in what ryhtym (on1/on2) she/he dances in at least 25 percent of the choreography.
  • Whichever ryhtym started, it should be cotinued in the same rhytym. (If on1 was started, it should continued in the same way.
  • Choreography soundtracks should contain all SALSA elements.
  • A choreography of salsa and music should be prepared for a minimum of 1 minutes and maximum of 1 minute 15 seconds.
  • A maxium of 2 musics tracks can be used in a mix at the same time.
  • The music combined must be Afro Cuban, Afro Son, Son Cubano, Rumba Columbia, Mambo, Timba, Songo, Bomba or Salsa. Cover pieces that have the characteristics of these music genres can alsa be used.
  • Increases and decreases in the speed of the selected music are not considered as effects other than salsa. It can be done if desired.
  • Effects and similar sound elements that are not included in the selected music cannot be used.
  • Contestants are required to perform in a professional dancer costume or an elegant outfit (Such as a dance party outfit). Pajamas and similar indoor clothing are not suitable.
  • Shoes must be used. Socks or bare feet performances are prohibited.

SCORING CRITERIAS

TECHNIQUE - 40 POINTS
15 POINTS - Salsa steps and body use techniques.
15 POINTS - Posture, Turn, Balance, Timing techniques.
10 POINTS - Rumba (Guaguanco, Columbia, Yambu), Afro, Pachanga etc. techniques.
CHOREOGRAPHY - 30 POINTS
5 POINTS - Space usage.
10 POINTS - Link beetween moves.
15 POINTS - Harmony with music.
DIFFICULTY - 20 POINTS
10 POINTS - Speed.
10 POINTS - Acrobatics.
ARTISTIC - 10 POINTS
5 POINTS - Costume / Elegance outfit.
5 POINTS - Charisma, Presentation Energy.
